Whilst the 150th anniversary show of Manchester is still relatively fresh in the mind, the 2102 show is now already upon us and the good news is that the entry has nearly matched that of the special event in 2011.

The show starts on Thursday January 19th although there is a curtain raiser in the form of the Petplan Stakes on Wednesday the 18th as last year.

Show Secretary Paul Harding told OUR DOGS, ‘Manchester Championship Dog Show Society would like to thank all our exhibitors for your continued support and wish every body a prosperous new year; we did not think we could match the entry for our 150th centenary but we are only 69 dogs down with challenge certificates and 76 without challenge certificates. At the centenary we had free second entries with each dog and reduced NFC thus our NFC was down by 117. So any small reduction is understandable.

‘We are delighted to confirm that we still have free admission and free car parking. The society is proud to be the venue for the Petplan final once more and also to host the YKC.’

Also in this issue are full details of the entry. There have been some judging changes due to the withdrawal of Mrs M McKenzie and Mrs M Masterson; these are as follows: Frank Kane will now judge Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand and Petit); Steve Hall will judge Toy Poodles, Tom Mather Giant Schnauzers, David Guy Miniature Poodles, and Ann Ingram has taken over the Rough Collie entry from Mrs M Masterton.

The Society looks forward to another excellent show at the Bingley Hall, Stafford and wishes all exhibitors and enjoyable and successful show.
