Some good news for a change in the world of dogs as Manchester Championship Show unveiled  further innovations following last year’s special 150th year anniversary show.

The Society is set to launch its schedule for the 2012 show and OUR DOGS can announce that this will contain some exciting developments.

Top of the list is a move away from traditional methods of reading your catalogue! Moving very much into the 21st century, all exhibitors who enter online will now be able to read their breed catalogue pages on digital applications such as iPhones, iPads, Android phones and similar devices. A text alert will be sent at 7am on the morning of the show each day for people in those groups, who can then access their breeds of the day. The service will cost £1 and exhibitors can ‘try before they buy’ when they register on the site, developed with Higham Press.

There is another advantage to entering online, and that is that the first entry is being held at £23 with subsequent entries for dogs owned by the same exhibitor costing just £20.

Secretary Paul Harding told OUR DOGS, ‘We are delighted to offer these services and prices for our loyal exhibitors. Even in these tough times we can look for ways to develop and enhance the Manchester show experience.’

Paul also confirmed that the Petplan Junior Stakes Finals for 2011 will again take place at the Bingley Hall venue on Wednesday January 18th, the day before Manchester show starts.

OUR DOGS also believes that there will be further developments and exciting plans for this popular competition and we hope to bring more news on that in a forthcoming issue.

Further news from the show is that the YKC weekend will take place again in the Pavillion, where on Friday the Bolognese club will host its  show in the morning and Manchester has put breed classes on in the afternoon. this again could be a way forward to help breed clubs with venue costs.

With the Good Citizen classes in every breed it looks like Manchester will get 2012 off to a flying start! OUR DOGS will bring you further updates in due course.
