Germany holds a number of Championship shows every year, of these, the Dortmund shows stand out, these are double shows, two International Shows in three days in parallel and OUR DOGS is the International Media Partner for both these famous events. On the third weekend of October, on 16-18th, the Autumn Dortmund called Hund un Pferd (Dog and Horse),

While last year the show was granted only a CAC title and the number of entries was rather low with 1,245, this year can be called an explosion. A CACIB title was on offer this year and along with the fine reputation of the Leuvense Dog Club, Lovanium made history, breaking its own record with 1,884 entries, an increase of over 50%!!!

The big event in the Benelux region is the Winner Show in Amsterdam, now with the added bonus of the Eukanuba World Challenge. (EWC). Now in its second year at its new home in Amsterdam. The Eukanuba World Challenge is a great attraction and its staging there brings in many top dogs from around the globe.

A glowing tribute from the American dog fancy to Mrs Dodge – in the form of 4,456 dogs entered at this year’s Madison event. This mark eclipses Crufts’ highest figure and without any doubt establishes Morris and Essex as the world’s greatest dog show.” Of course, this review of the show was written in 1939. Crufts has continued to grow and prosper, with current entries in excess of 20,000.

THIS was Adelaide Royal’s 176th Show, attracting entries from the greater Adelaide area and inter-state. The show was held from Friday, 4th September to Sunday, 13th September and took place in the splendid David Roche Hall, aptly named, as David was a judge, in fact he judged Best in Show at Crufts in 1969.

On the 10th & 11th of October, two International Shows were held in Komarom, Hungary. Best in Show (Day 1) judged by Mrs Zsuzsanna Balogh, was the Black Puli, Ludas Matyi Pityke, bred and owned by Antal Ferenc from Hungary; Res BIS was the American Akita,

Best in Show at the New Zealand National Show on October 4th 2015 at the Eukanuba Wellington Events Centre in Porirua, Wellington was the Bernese Mountain Dog, Ch Schallenberg I Am Giant, owned by: J Walden & L Jury (breeder). Best in Show was judged by Adriano Bosa from Argentina, a successful breeder of over 40 years and the Chairman of Buenos Aires Kennel Club in Argentina.

BIS at the International Dog Show of Mallorca in memory of Jose Haro de Haro was the Jack Russell Terrier, Ch Granlasco A Beautiful Mind. The show was arranged in the memory of the popular Jose Haro Haro who was the President of the Kennel Club in Andalucia. Jose had great connections with the UK and often attended Crufts and the City of Birmingham shows; he was a great lover of Pointers and he was the organiser of shows in Jerez and Seville each year.

Last year was the first time round for this new show. In fact it was not a new show, as Libramont is the replacement of the Namur Dog Show, which was saved from disappearing by Mr Detry. While last year it was a CAC show, expectations were high this year for its first CACIB show.

At the IDS Russia 2015 held in Moscow on the 31st October, there were 5,261 entries, and Best in Show on Day 1, judged by Horst Kliebenstein from Germany, was the Keeshond (pictured above), Showtyme Admiraal The Mighty Sven, bred and owned by Hooper, Woodliffe & De Brun. Also pictured is President of the Russian KC, Alexsander Inshakov.
