This year’s edition of the ‘Pinkstershow’ in Arnhem, traditionally held at Pentecost, was endangered by the announced bankruptcy of the ‘Rijnhal’, the show’s host. Uncertainty amongst a large group of loyal exhibitors kept them from entering their dogs for a long time. Time is money and life is currently expensive for everyone involved.
Once the organization came out with an official announcement, the sky cleared and even according to the management of the congress hall, the show had to go on.
In the heat of the competition, the Russian Yorkshire Terrier "Lakki Star Nota Bene" took Best in Show. By Dutch standards, this breed is not an everyday winner of group 3, not to mention winning the grand finale. Of course it’s fair to state that Russians do know how to breed a good dog. Reserve Best in Show was the German poodle apricot-grey-red "Toy Max Looking Trusty" of D. Kirschstein and C. Weber. The iron was forged, the battle was fought.
After cleaning the ‘Rijnhal’ once more, the board of KC Arnhem and it’s team of volunteers locked the doors behind them.
Probably for good, this time.
