OES Jimmy dies A HUNGARIAN Old English Sheepdog who won the World Dog Show in 2013 has died. WW ‘13-INT-D-VDH-F-SK-H-ROM-GEO-ESP Ch. Bottom Shaker My Secret (Jimmy) was a dog of international repute winning shows across Europe.
THE TRUSTEES of the Animal Health Trust have announced that there is a strong possibility that the Charity will have to close at the end of this month if their efforts to secure emergency funding is not successful.
THE WORLD has been gripped by the COVID-19 crisis and the dog show scene is not exempt. In a situation that rivals or even overshadows the crisis with foot and mouth disease some years ago, the dog show scene has been decimated with events being cancelled or postponed across the board.
In the same way that the UK dog show scene has been hit for six, the international showing community have been similarly affected. The biggest event to fall by the wayside is the World Dog Show in Madrid. In fact this has been postponed until July due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
After four momentous days, a new Crufts Best in Show winner was crowned as Ch Silvae Trademark, otherwise known as Maisie, a Wire-Haired Dachshund, and took home the coveted title last Sunday night after what can only be described as a ‘unique’ Crufts event.
Last week OUR DOGS reported that a number of dog shows had been canceled around Europe. As the virus has taken hold across the continent, with Italy being put into lockdown, more shows have been postponed.
On Friday 6th March, at Crufts 2020, the Kennel Club and the FCI met to discuss an international, collaborative approach to brachycephalic breed health and discussed the potential of expanding Kennel Club/University of Cambridge Respiratory Function Grading Scheme.
With 1445 dogs entered for this show, the organizers of the Ambiorix Trofee 2020 were quite happy, especially as it was only a national show and very close to Crufts! Compared to some CACIB shows that is indeed a good result.
BETWEEN February, 13-16 four International Shows were held in Budapest, Hungary, call the FEHOVA Winter Dog Shows. The shows were held in the Hungexpo, the Budapest Fair together with the Arms, Fishing and Hunting Show.
