Kennel Club Members have now received final details of how its 2020 AGM will be organised. It will be held on 30th June by video conferencing after being postponed from May because of the Coronavirus situation.

So-called ‘greeders’ have been taking advantage of the lockdown and selling puppies at inflated prices to families desperate to own a dog. Social media posts started to circulate a few weeks ago detailing shocking stories of puppy prices suddenly rocketing as lockdown families seem to have decided that now is a good time to take on a new puppy.
The Akita Club of America (ACA) has voted to split the breed in the USA. In a vote of members they decided by 210 votes to 58 to allow the Japanese Akita Club of America (JACA) to apply to the American Kennel Club (AKC) to recognise the breed.
Following the commotion concerning the decision of the Minister regarding the brachycephalic breeds, lots of messages have been circling on social media.
OUR DOGS has now received a copy of the response from the board of the Raad van Beheer to the open letter from the President of the FCI, also shown here. This follows the developments in the Netherlands regarding the brachycephalic breeds as reported in OUR DOGS May 15th and 22nd.
Abridged meeting to be held on 30th June - The originally arranged date for the Kennel Club AGM was May 12th but, after the Government’s Coronavirus lockdown was announced, the KC advised Members in April that it had decided to postpone the meeting to 30th June – the latest possible date according to the KC’s Articles of Association.
