It was a great pleasure and honour to be invited again (my fourth time) to judge in Jamaica, and to find that fanciers continue to strive for balance and perfection while improving the average quality of the German Shepherd Dog here.
Against a background of economic recession, social network disagreements and a campaign to stop people going to Romania, the organisers of the European Show 2012 came through with flying colours to surprise many detractors with a show that grew in stature over four days in Bucharest.

Group 9 winner and Best in Show (Saturday) was the Lhasa Apso, Multi BIS Ch Zentarr Morgan, owned by M. D. Anderson & Stefano Paolantoni from the UK and handled by Javier Gonzalez Mendikote. I HAD the great pleasure of being invited by the Russian Kennel Club to judge the Rough Collie Speciality plus the Specialities for Bullmastiffs and Dogue de Bordeaux plus Group 1 where I was treated to some very excellent specimens, the Rough Collie winning it before going RBIS. I was accompanied by Barry Makepeace (Lynaire) who not only had many breeds to judge but also 2 groups and BIS.
The Swedish Kennel Club held their International two-day championship show at Boras with top entries all round, which is more than can be said for the weather! However, Robert Paust, both in his official and unofficial capacities more than compensated for the intermittent showers with his incredible sense of humour.
THIS WAS my first visit to Darlington Ch Show since the Sam Pascoe days as Secretary, and also my first viewing of the venue at Newby Hall. What a great setting for a dog show, lovely scenic countryside, a well planned layout but most of all I noticed and felt the warm and friendly northern atmosphere.
A FANTASTIC weekend for sight hound enthusiasts was held on Sunday 22 July 2012 at the superb outdoor venue The Tvonarkinkarthon Vintcikorakeskus Show Complex which is just a twenty minute drive from the centre of Helsinki. The venue boasts large manicured outdoor grass rings which enables all hounds to show of their paces.
