I was just back from a rollercoaster ride from down under Australia and straight to Serbia to cover the National Dog Show CAC Aleksinac, International Night Dog Show CACIB Sokobanja, and the National Dog Show CAC Paraćin at the end of July.
With lots of pride, Mr Boclinville, the President of the club Syndicat d’Elevage Canin de Liège, told me that he had a record entry this year. I was somewhat suspicious as this was a double show and Committees used to count up the entries of both shows in order to make it look more successful.
As I approached the showground in the heart of the Malvern hills, I couldn’t help but think that this is just the perfect place to host such a show, with both Working and Pastoral breeds, seen in action for many to see and enjoy.
THE EAST of England Agricultural Society’s general championship show – which in more recent times has been part of the society’s ‘Just Dogs Live’ event – has always been a popular summer show.
With an entry of 1,233 dogs, the organisers of the latest “Ambiorix Trophy” were quite happy. In 2017 they still had an entry of 1,738 and last year 1,513. If we compare with all the other shows and the declining tendency, we are happy to have that many dogs.
