THE 46th Esposizione Internazionale Canina di Milano was held on January 22-23, and became bigger and more glamorous than when it ran in...

On the 10th & 11th of October, two International Shows were held in Komarom, Hungary. Best in Show (Day 1) judged by Mrs Zsuzsanna Balogh, was the Black Puli, Ludas Matyi Pityke, bred and owned by Antal Ferenc from Hungary; Res BIS was the American Akita,

Not by being the most exciting or hard competition made this the hottest show of the Debrecen Double International, simply just the air temperature, it was one of the hottest weekends in Hungary, it was about 36-37 degrees in shade. For ten years now, two international dog shows have been held in a weekend.

THE Pécs International was held on 21-22 of June. Pécs is in the south of Hungary, some 200 kilometres south of Budapest and close to the Croatian border, approximately 40 kilometres.

There were two shows held over the weekend with about 600 entries, quite a low entry, but there was an International Show in Komarom two weeks earlier and an International in Slovenia at the same time.

Szilvasvarad is a lovely, small village in Eastern Hungary, on the slopes of the Bukk Mountains near to the one of the most famous Hungarian Wine Regions – Eger, which is renowned for the wine known as Eger Bull’s Blood.

THE Komárom Fortress has now become the traditional place for the closing events of the Hungarian dog show season. Two International Shows were held on the 19th & 20th of October and a few special shows also held on Saturday afternoon.

The fortress has a huge yard in the middle, big enough for the three huge show tents, the main ring, trade and food stands and for all the parking. If anybody arrived early, they could get parking just 10 metres from the ring!

BRINGING an eventful week to a close, the top winning OES ‘Jimmy’ was a fitting winner in his home country under BIS judge Tamas Jakkel. This yearsWORLD DOG SHOW had taken place in Budapest against a backdrop of a lively FCI meeting, a new president in the form of Rafael Santiago from Puerto Rico, and a packed programme of breed and club shows, a CACIB show on Wednesday followed by four days of a WORLD DOG SHOW with 18,000 dogs from all over the world.
