THE Sighthound Festival was held in Donaueschingen, Germany on the weekend of the 2nd & 3rd of August.
There were two shows, Saturday was the Donaueschingen Winner Show, and Sunday the Club Show of the DWZRV. Over the two days there were more than 1,200 entries, which is a record in the history of this event.
I WAS so pleased to be invited back to Germany for the sixth time to judge the German OES Club Show. This time in the lovely city of Bremen, a couple of hours drive from Hamburg.
The entry was double the previous year and some exibitors had travelled huge distances to be present. Everything was organised to perfection and my hosts and exibitors gave me a warm welcome.
VDH LV Nord held its two day international show on the 1st and 2nd of June 2013. The entry of 2,250 dogs was a bit less than last year. Exhibitors came over from 15 different countries, with a very high number coming from the neighbouring Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, but with others travelling the long way from Belarus, Poland and Austria.
The judges list (11 countries) was also international e.g. from Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Romania with Andrew Jones (Cocker Spaniel), Penny Govland and Malcolm Godefroy (Golden Retriever), David Coode (Labrador Retriever) and Lynne E. Martin judging Chow Chow from United Kingdom.
