I was delighted to be invited to Jyvaskyla in Finland, and while I have judged in 22 different countries, this was my first visit to Finland (the snow was a bit of a shock to the system).
The show had drawn a huge entry of well over 5,000 dogs over the two days! The judging panel contained judges from many different countries. The UK was well represented with Mrs Meg Purnell-Capenter, Michael Gadsby, Des Jenkins, Ronald James, Colin Reed and daughter Melanie Reed-Peck, Grace Goodwin, and it was Graces BOB Apso that finished BIS.
Well done to Juha Kares and the Chic Choix Lhasa Apso for winning the Breeders Team award at last weekends Finnish Winners Show in Helsinki.
The breeders groups are highly valued in Europe and to win this award, breeders must compete at the highest level.

Peggy & I had a very nice invitation to judge at a CAC National Group 1 & Group 8 show in the town of Lohja, Finland on the 8th of June, 2014.The show was held on a lakeside in the town and with glorious weather and setting the whole event was first class.
We stayed in the Rantasipty Kylpyla Spa Hotel in a lovely wooded area of Siuntion, the facilities, food and the hotel staff were all to a very high standard it was a perfect week end.
Peggy was to judge the Shetland Sheepdogs and the Lancashire Heelers, however, because of the number allowed by the Finnish KC to judge per day, the entry was well over, so the Shetland Sheepdog males and the Lancashire Heelers were allocated to other judges.
