Dracula Golden Trophy - always something new!

A top international judges panel brought again to Transylvania the best shows dogs from Europe. “On the way home from Netherlands, European winner” – seemed to be the sentence that was heard often during the weekend.

Dracula Golden Trophy is a show to experience – it’s not just a dog show, it is a weekend full of feelings, friends meeting and of course top quality show dogs from all over Europe.

The atmosphere is one of a kind – the medieval surroundings are perhaps not the best for a show venue, but who cares… Anything you want to eat and drink, enjoying your stay and waiting for the big finale in the middle of the night.

The Dracula Golden Trophy weekend includes normally three shows. The mini circuit starts with CAC show in the Saturday morning, the group finales are held before two o’clock in the afternoon. One hour break and then is the time for Crufts qualifying CACIB show – the true Dracula Golden Trophy. Everything is set for the great show in the darkness of the evening, this is the time for Dracula to arise! Every year something special, every year a new show – this is the secret why people come over and over again to Targu Mures.

The show has developed in the talented hands of Zsolt Lokodi, the president of the organizing kennel club and Petru Muntean – the Count Dracula. Vibes to the show are brought by Papp Laszlo, not a word of English, but what an announcer. There was a quiet moment just before the BIS announcement and only thing you heard was a whisper… “Dracula Golden Trophy”… Fire show, theatre group playing their part with the forces of evil, and finally Count Dracula pointing to the Best In Show. The final touch to the great finale is a true golden plate in the beautiful rosette presented to the BIS winner.

The Sunday show starts at 11, so everyone have a time to rest after the dramatic meeting with the Dracula. This year Sunday’s show was the Romanian Open – in this show gaining the CACIB brings you the Romanian Champion title. After a great line up for Best in Show its time to say good bye to great friends again… But waiting to see what will happen in next Dracula Golden Trophy show next year…and OUR DOGS will be there to cover the show for dog lovers and friends of Dracula alike!
