Afghan Aborigen Hound, Biewer (black and white yorkie), Boerboel, Buryat-Mongolian Dog and Taigan proudly paraded in the rings alongside with such show favourites as American Staffordshire Terrier (146 dogs), Labrador Retriever (133 dogs) and many others that were introduced in Russia a little over 20 years ago and since then won over the hearts of numerous dog lovers.

The Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991 and the Russian Kennel Club took over purebred dog matters. This large show that unites both Europe and Asia became the first large project that caught the attention of thousands dog show fans from all regions of Russia to Moscow.

BEST IN SHOW JUDGES REPORT

Jean Jacques Dupas (France) writes:

It was a great surprise for me to see that I would judge the BIS on Saturday at Eurasia Show as no one said anything to me in advance! Eurasia is one of the most famous shows in the World and it was a real great honour for me to judge the BIS. In the main ring I saw some very nice dogs. For me the five best finalists were:

Samoyed for group 5 Basset Hound from Group 6, together with the Braco Italiano for Group 7, Flat Coated Retriever for Group 8 and the Borzoi from Group 10

So, when I chose the three finalists it was not easy and a small detail could make the difference. The Borzoi moved very well around but not perfect in front in movement up and down.

The Bracco Italiano is a high quality dog with a fantastic movement but he is young and not fully developed. He is a great champion. The Basset Hound was perfect each time in the ring. He is not extreme and his movement is typical. He is strong but not heavy.

Thank you for this enjoyable time in Moscow.
