IDS - Russia 2015

At the IDS Russia 2015 held in Moscow on the 31st October, there were 5,261 entries, and Best in Show on Day 1, judged by Horst Kliebenstein from Germany, was the Keeshond (pictured above), Showtyme Admiraal The Mighty Sven, bred and owned by Hooper, Woodliffe & De Brun. Also pictured is President of the Russian KC, Alexsander Inshakov.


The Eurasia Show, Moscow

Best in Show on Day 1 of the Eurasia Dog Show in Moscow, Russia, was the Azawakh, WW EW Multi BIS and BISS Azamour Khemosaby, owned by Andrey Klishas, and handled by Nicolas Pineiro. BIS Judge on Day 1 was Marja Talvitia from Finland with Espen Engh from Norway judging the breed and Jean Jacques Dupas from France, judging the group. The show was a Crufts qualification with 6,500 dogs entered each day.

Having just attended Manchester Show in snow and ice the weekend before, I think I was reasonably prepared for a trip to Moscow and temperatures of minus 15 degrees, possibly the coldest place I have been for a dog show anywhere! I HAD the great pleasure of being invited by the Russian Kennel Club to judge the Rough Collie Speciality plus the Specialities for Bullmastiffs and Dogue de Bordeaux plus Group 1 where I was treated to some very excellent specimens, the Rough Collie winning it before going RBIS. I was accompanied by Barry Makepeace (Lynaire) who not only had many breeds to judge but also 2 groups and BIS.

A long trip for Barrie Croft TWENTY-NINE hours travelling to judge a dog show leaving Scarborough at 1 am Thursday I arrived in Novokuznetsk (which is almost 5hrs flight fromMoscow) at 6-25 Fri morning to judge their once a year big International Championship show with well over 300 dogs entered !

    After four momentous days, a new Crufts Best in Show winner was crowned as Ch Silvae Trademark, otherwise known as Maisie, a Wire-Haired Dachshund, and took home the coveted title last Sunday night after what can only be described as a ‘unique’ Crufts event.
