This year the greatest Austrian dog show, the Tulln International was held as two separate International Shows, the Saturday was the Crufts qualification, and Sunday the Austrian Bundessieger.

Saturday there were 1,993 entries and Sunday, 2,112 entries. The two days were the 28th and 29th of September. The show area is in the small city of Tulln, which is about 30 kilometres from Vienna, the capital of Austria. I have been here many times, maybe this is the best show in Austria.

There were a lot of foreign dogs, from many countries, and professional handlers from the Middle European countries. There were a lot of trade stands (more than 100), more products, foods and a good wide selection. The Bundessieger title still has a value which has made this show the best in Austria every year.

There were dogs from 31 countries. Of course most were from Austria then Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and at the other end of the list there were entries from the USA, Australia, Montenegro, Greek, Norway, Belorussia. There were 45 rings (Sunday) in five halls, (and there was also a cat show, and “other small animals” show in two more halls).

The usual place of the main ring in Hall 1, was now closed because of rebuilding. The foreign judges at the show were: Myrna Shiboleth (ISR), Luis Catalan (P), Christian Vantu (RO), Jochen Eberhardt (D), Barbara Mosch-Schlösser (D), Jadranka Mijatovic (CRO), Tina Sterguljc-Krusic (SLO), Pavol Seman (SK), Ferdinando Asnaghi (I), Heike Maiwald (D), Barbka Novak (SLO), Viktor Lobakin (AZE), Milivoje Urosevis (SRB), Börje Johansson (S), Tina Angrell (S), Yvonne Jaussi (CH), Mary O’Donoghue (IRL), Arne Schwarz (D), Dusan Paunovic (SRB), Elizabeta Chawlibog (PL), Maite Lorenzo Gonzalbo (E), Jakkel Tamás (H), Anne Macdonald (UK), Jill Peak (UK), Gabriela Ridarcikova (SK), Dieter Lang (D), Lemmer Torsten (BG), Wim Wellens (NL), Ivana Pajkic Letic (SRB), Phlippie Fortemps (B), Hanrik Hannelus (SF).
