Best in Show at Weelde CACIB 2019 was the Whippet, Proud Mary Da Roseira Brava, owned by Bart Scheerens from Belgium. BIS Judge was Dirk Spruyt (Belgium).
Happy faces all over, the entry grew dramatically from 1,371 dogs in 2018 to 1,769 this year. That made a big difference! Could it be that people are finally finding their way to Weelde, which is a rather remote place.

Antwerp had its first double show, hoping to have a lot of entries, more than two years ago, when they had 2,152 dogs. Last year was not bad either with 1,826.

Best in Show at the LKV Genk Show was the Miniature Poodle, Nice Steps For Me Only, owned by Julia Nad. Group Judge was Tamas Jakkel from Hungary. Best in Show Judge was Mrs Patricia Nemirovsky de Alsina from Argentina.
Every year, Genk plays host to a dog show organised by the LKV (Limburgse Kynologen Vereniging). A busy show with 1,880 dogs entered. Most of the dogs entered came from Belgium, with Germany and the Netherlands following closely.

It seems like my call in the desert has been heard. The Royal Society St Hubert (Belgian Kennel Club) has decided to stop double shows from next year on.

Since the first time I covered the show of Aalst, many things have changed. From an old hall in the city of Aalst, the Committee decided to move the show to the famous Octoberhallen in Wieze.

Brabo 2017 Featured

Best in Show at the Brabo 2017 show was the Group 9 winner, the Miniature Poodle, Curlfinch Jakira, owned by Kroes - Vink Corrie. Group Judge for Group 9 and also the BIS Judge was Mrs Degryze (Belgium).
It looks like the organisers of the Antwerp dog show, called Brabo dog show, decided to no longer have 50 per cent Belgian judges. Two years ago there was a very high entry of over 2,400 dogs, probably as it was a Crufts qualifier.

Gent 2016 Featured

Written by
For the second time Gent held its show over two days. For many years, (this is the 46th time for this bi-yearly show), was just a one day show. The Flanders Expo Halls were big enough to hold 2,000 dogs at once. There was only a very slight increase of entries, 1,966 to be exact...

Lovanium 2015 Featured

Written by
While last year the show was granted only a CAC title and the number of entries was rather low with 1,245, this year can be called an explosion. A CACIB title was on offer this year and along with the fine reputation of the Leuvense Dog Club, Lovanium made history, breaking its own record with 1,884 entries, an increase of over 50%!!!
