Championaat de France, Angers

At the Championaat de France in Angers on the 7th & 8th of June, Friponne Du Pic D’Espade Kelltara was awarded CACS, CACIB and BOB by Breed Specialist, M. Alain Pecoult. She was then selected 2nd in the Group 1 by Hans Van Den Berg, only being beaten by the eventual BIS winner, a Berger Blanc Suisse. Rescuing an otterhound from France

It was May when I had a phone call from friends in France who have Otterhounds, to say they had been told of an Otterhound on ‘death-row’ in a French Pound. They gave me details of a web-site run by Evelyn Gorrill, an English lady in France and sure enough, the photo was definitely an Otterhound, named Dede.

Shortly after Welks, they travelled across the English Channel to Amiens two day International Show and on Sunday Diego finished his International title by winning CACS, CACIB Best of Breed he won Best in Group 10 then Best in Show.

WDS Paris 2011

The result was a World Dog Show of 21,678 dogs over four days - and a Championnat de France Show of 14,817 over the first three of those four days. A total of nearly 36,500 dogs all told. This meant that on each of the first three days, the organisers were putting about 10,000 dogs a day through the halls.
