Dortmund Shows Oct 2019

Best in show under Gopi Krishnan at Germany’s flagship show, the Dortmund Bundessieger, was Gr Ch Austrian Dream Fascination With Fire, bred and owned by Philipp Harrer in Austria, presented by Katja Rauhut and on this occasion, handled by Csenge Palocska in the Best in Show final. Also pictured in the presentation party from right to left, Crista Bremer the Vice President of the VDH, Udo Kopernik VDH Board member, Katja, Csenge, Vince Hogan of OUR DOGS (Media Partner) and BIS Judge Mr Gopi Krishnan the President of the Malaysian Kennel Club. ‘Scamp’ also won Reserve Best in Show at the German Herbstsieger (National) Show under Christian Stefanescu from Romania.

Dortmund Shows May 2019

Best in Show at the Europasieger at Dortmund 2019 was Labrador Retriever Woefdram’s Abercrombie bred, owned and handled by Sander Nugteren from Holland, under BIS judge Tamas Jakkel, seen here with the Vice President of the VDH Crista Bremmer right, members of the VDH and Vince Hogan representing OUR DOGS the international media partners for the event.

The famous Dortmund dog shows take place each year in the large show grounds of Westfallenhallen, right next to the equally famous Borussia Dortmund stadium which holds about 80,000 people.

Bundessieger & International Show 2018

Best in show of the International show of Dortmund in Germany last weekend was the Basset Artesien Normand, Virtuvians Baxter owned by Roger Schielke and judged by Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel, Germany. Making the presentations were Peter Friedrich, the President of the VDH and Vince Hogan of OUR DOGS the International Media Partner of the VDH

Dortmund International Winners 2018

Best in Show at the Europa Sieger Show was Monika u. Ninja Knöpfli’s Cairn Terrier Hjohoo’s Hjore Such A Pleasure from Switzerland, under Philip John from India.

DORTMUND WAS the destination for many last weekend, with the Europa Winner Show and the International Exhibition show both being held at the Westphalia Halls in very warm and sunny weather.

International & Europasieger 2017

Best in Show at the Dortmund International Show judged by Hans van den Berg, was the Whippet, Creme Anglaise’s Pantomime owned by Akerboom and Hansen. Reserve spot went to the Australian Silky Terrier, Pet Pursuit Bay Falcon (Timonen/Virtanen) and Third, the Portuguese Perdigueiro, ‘Viccor’ owned by Lidy Put and handled by Dutch handler Priscilla van Oosten. The presentation party included, from left to right, Christa Bremer (VDH Vice President) Peter Friedrich (VDH President) Vince Hogan (OUR DOGS International Media Partner) and Wolfgang Henke (Vice President of the VDH).

Germany finds itself in the spotlight this year with a series of big shows culminating in the biggest FCI show of the year with the World Dog Show in Leipzig in November 2017 being organised by the German Kennel Club, otherwise known as the VDH.

Dortmund International 2016

Best in Show at the International Dog Show in Dortmund (Germany), 6-8 May 2016 was the Afghan Hound, Agha Djari’s Blue Steel, owned by Karin Hessling from Germany. Reserve was the Lhasa Apso, Close To Perfection Next To You, owned by Marion Radstock from the Netherlands and Third was the Wire Fox Terrier, Ash Grove Maddox, owned by Svetglana Kot from Russia. BIS Judge was Hans-E. Grüttner (Germany) (centre with BIS Rosette) and the presentation party included Vince Hogan OUR DOGS (International Media Partner), Wolfgang Henke (Vice-President VDH), Peter Friedrich President of the VDH and Christa Bremer (Vice President VDH)

EIGHT Thousand seven hundred and seventy-one dogs from 35 countries attended the VDH-European Winner & International Exhibition 2016 in Dortmund last weekend. The show had a very healthy gate of 42,000 visitors who attended the show on one of the best weekends of the year in sunny conditions of 25 degrees.

Gotha - British Herding Breeds

I was delighted to be invited back to Germany for the tenth time - this time to judge The British Herding Breeds Club Show held in Gotha, a three hour drive from Frankfurt airport. The show was so well organised with excellent size rings and perfect ring officals plus wonderful weather all made this dog showing at its very best.
