Best in show of the International show of Dortmund in Germany last weekend was the Basset Artesien Normand, Virtuvians Baxter owned by Roger Schielke and judged by Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel, Germany. Making the presentations were Peter Friedrich, the President of the VDH and Vince Hogan of OUR DOGS the International Media Partner of the VDH

Best in Show at the Europa Sieger Show was Monika u. Ninja Knöpfli’s Cairn Terrier Hjohoo’s Hjore Such A Pleasure from Switzerland, under Philip John from India.
DORTMUND WAS the destination for many last weekend, with the Europa Winner Show and the International Exhibition show both being held at the Westphalia Halls in very warm and sunny weather.


Best in Show at the Dortmund International Show judged by Hans van den Berg, was the Whippet, Creme Anglaise’s Pantomime owned by Akerboom and Hansen. Reserve spot went to the Australian Silky Terrier, Pet Pursuit Bay Falcon (Timonen/Virtanen) and Third, the Portuguese Perdigueiro, ‘Viccor’ owned by Lidy Put and handled by Dutch handler Priscilla van Oosten. The presentation party included, from left to right, Christa Bremer (VDH Vice President) Peter Friedrich (VDH President) Vince Hogan (OUR DOGS International Media Partner) and Wolfgang Henke (Vice President of the VDH).
Germany finds itself in the spotlight this year with a series of big shows culminating in the biggest FCI show of the year with the World Dog Show in Leipzig in November 2017 being organised by the German Kennel Club, otherwise known as the VDH.


Best in Show at the International Dog Show in Dortmund (Germany), 6-8 May 2016 was the Afghan Hound, Agha Djari’s Blue Steel, owned by Karin Hessling from Germany. Reserve was the Lhasa Apso, Close To Perfection Next To You, owned by Marion Radstock from the Netherlands and Third was the Wire Fox Terrier, Ash Grove Maddox, owned by Svetglana Kot from Russia. BIS Judge was Hans-E. Grüttner (Germany) (centre with BIS Rosette) and the presentation party included Vince Hogan OUR DOGS (International Media Partner), Wolfgang Henke (Vice-President VDH), Peter Friedrich President of the VDH and Christa Bremer (Vice President VDH)
EIGHT Thousand seven hundred and seventy-one dogs from 35 countries attended the VDH-European Winner & International Exhibition 2016 in Dortmund last weekend. The show had a very healthy gate of 42,000 visitors who attended the show on one of the best weekends of the year in sunny conditions of 25 degrees.

On the third weekend of October, on 16-18th, the Autumn Dortmund called Hund un Pferd (Dog and Horse),


I was delighted to be invited back to Germany for the tenth time - this time to judge The British Herding Breeds Club Show held in Gotha, a three hour drive from Frankfurt airport. The show was so well organised with excellent size rings and perfect ring officals plus wonderful weather all made this dog showing at its very best. 


The BIS winners of the Dortmund International show on the 8-10th May 2015 were: BIS was the Afghan, Agha Djari's Blue Steel, owned by Karin Hessling (Germany), Res BIS was the Bullmastiff Leatherneck N'Rodels Road Warrior, Whalea Bus and Danny Cominotto (the Netherlands), 3rd was the Kaninchen dachshund, Norden Liht Triumph, Artur Lewantowitsch (Germany), the BISwas judged by dr. Wilfried Peper (D)
