WELL, THAT was a good one, wasn’t it?  My 29th Crufts (I know that’s just a short time compared to some!) but I think it was one of the busiest I’ve seen in a while; in fact the Kennel Club Chairman Steve Croxford announced on Sunday night that just over 166,500 people came through the door!


Houndshow 2018 Featured

What a day for the Soletrader Kennels, when Ch. Soletrader Magic Mike won yet another CC, bringing his total to 23. This win today gave him his 22nd group.


Best in Show at National Working & Pastoral Breeds was the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Ch Viskalys My Way Or No Way To Chandlimore (Imp) owned by Nagrecha, Mattisson-Sandstrom & Sandstrom, pictured with best in show judge Geoff Corish. Handled by Andi Horwood.
Beautiful weather, sunshine and a cool breeze allowed for a great day at this year’s NW&PBS, held under the gorgeous rolling hills of Malvern.


Crufts 2018 Featured

Jill Peak’s choice for Best in show at Crufts 2018 was the Whippet, Ch Collooney Tartan Tease JW WW’17 owned by David and Yvette Short and handled by Yvette. Tease was bred by Viv Coulter. Res BIS went to Heather Bennett and Joanne Blackburn-Bennett’s Pointer bitch, Sh Ch Kanix Chilli, handled by Joanne. I WAS honored and delighted to be given the lifetime opportunity to judge Crufts BIS 2018. The lineup of dogs was second to none – seven outstanding examples of their breeds.


Best in Show at Scottish Kennel Club judged by Mrs Sue Hewart-Chambers went to Melanie Harwood’s Miniature Poodle, Ch Minarets Best Kept Secret
The secret is out at SKC Well it is no secret that the Best in Show winner is a beautiful dog and this win certainly pleased the ringside. Melanie Harwood had a smile as wide as the new Forth Bridge Crossing when she was awarded Best in Show.

Bentley drives to pole position at Bath Ch Merrybear D'Artagnan, owned by Lyn and Terry Chapman, took his first all breeds Best in Show win in the UK at Bath over the bank holiday weekend from an entry of 7629 dogs.
