Crufts 2020

Best in show at Crufts last Sunday, to the crowd’s delight, was the Wire Haired Dachshund, Ch Silvae Trademark owned by Duncan and Kim McCalmont. Maisie triumphed over seven fantastic dogs in the final, but stood out for judge Anne Macdonald. A delighted Kim said, ‘It’s something you dream of and you don’t ever think will happen.’
After four momentous days, a new Crufts Best in Show winner was crowned as Ch Silvae Trademark, otherwise known as Maisie, a Wire-Haired Dachshund, and took home the coveted title last Sunday night after what can only be described as a ‘unique’ Crufts event.

Eukanuba Finals 2020

The winner of the Champion Stakes Final, judged by Dr Ron James was the Australian Shepherd, AKC ASCA UK Ch Wyndstar Magic Marker (Imp USA) owned by Kerry Kirtley (breeder), Dori Erdesz, John Shaw and Melanie Raymond (handling).

BOSTON & DCS is, as many of you will know, the newest of our general championship shows – and the first championship show each year since its inception.

LKA 2019

Dave Killilea took to the Best in Show ring and selected as Best in Show the Bichon Frise, Ch Regina Bichon You Rock My World at Pamplona owned by Michael Coad and Rich Smith. Representing LKA are the chairman Jackie Kitchener and treasurer Barbara Roderick. Breed judge Lynn Webster and Group judge George Farmer also photographed.
At the final all breed general championship show of the year, a little chap with a big personality took top spot out of a great entry of just under 10,000 dogs at the NEC in Birmingham.

The British Utility Breeds Association held its 48th annual championship show on Saturday 7th December 2019 at Staffordshire County Showground.

Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland

Best in Show at the Gundog Breeds Association of Scotland under Richard Stafford was the Pointer, Sh Ch Chesterhope Thrill Of Tchase (Imp Nz) owned by J & J O’Neil, handled by John Thirlwell, Chris Mellor represents the sponsor Arden Grange. He won his 40th CC on the day to equal the breed record.
A frosty start to the day at Ingliston but a cosy hall awaited the exhibitors. An interesting panel had judges from Europe, Scandinavia, UK and Australia.

Best in Show at the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland was the Alaskan Malamute Ch Chayo Cause Celebre owned by Sue Ellis and pictured with the judge Meg Purnell-Carpenter.
Well a timely finish to the show with all judging complete just after 5pm. Best in Show was Sue Ellis’ Alaskan Malamute Champion Chayo Cause Celebre coming through as Ann Ingram’s choice to top the working group.

Winning his 11th group at the show, Mark the Australian Shepherd dog went on to ‘top the lot’ under famous all rounder Albert Wight at what many people call a true exhibitors’ show at Bingley Hall in Stafford last weekend.
